Paperclip is a seed-stage startup that's backed by top-tier VC firms to build modern finance and accounting software.
Today’s finance teams are expected to be part-strategic finance, part-data analyst and part-systems architect — but the decades-old accounting solutions they're using can't support this approach.
We're changing this by building truly flexible accounting software that integrates well with other systems and provides ways to make accounting data more accessible and operationally useful.
As the founding engineer, you will be responsible for setting the standard for future employees and the cadence of product development. You'll join a team of co-founders wearing many hats and you will be working on all parts of our tech stack. Core responsibilities will be developing new features our customers need, brainstorming creative solutions to challenging problems, and building out the in-house engineering team.
We’re a fast growing company backed by BoxGroup and Amity Ventures. You’ll be joining a team of experienced, multi-time founders, whose previous companies were backed by Y Combinator, Softbank, and Qualcomm Ventures. We pay competitively and offer medical, dental, vision, and paid vacation. If you’re passionate about FinTech, solving hard problems, and tackling a massive, old-fashioned industry, we’d love to hear from you!
We've listed these traits here to help you identify if you're a good fit for this job. Even if your resume might not match these requirements exactly, we encourage you to apply if you're passionate about bringing order to the finances of today's startups and love working with passionate, clever folks. We’re always open to looking at old problems in new ways — that’s how we’re helping startups escape the tyranny of confusion on accounting.
